Jensen Ackles

Dean Winchester was born in 1979 and is the oldest son of John and Mary Winchester. In 1983, his mother was killed in a tragic fire that engulfed her body and burned down their home, the fire was started by an evil demon. When Dean was old enough to use a gun, his father began his training to kill evil entities. He and his father were hunting demons together until one day his father disappeared without a trace and Dean went to find his younger brother Sam. The brothers began working together and then Sam died and Dean sold his soul to bring Sam back to life. Jensen Ackles plays the part of Dean Winchester.

Jensen’s Biography

Jensen was born to Roger Ackles and Donna Shaffer on March 1, 1978 in Dallas, Texas. He is of English, Irish and Scottish descent. His name was going to be Justin but his parents thought it was too common of a name. He has an older brother named Joshua and a younger sister named Mackenzie. He began his celebrity career at the age of four as a child model but soon quit and then rejoined the modeling business at the age of ten.

He then left the modeling business and became an actor in 1996 after graduating from L. V. Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas. During high school, Jensen played lacrosse and baseball. He loves to ride horses and is a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Before he decided to move to LA to become an actor, he planned to go into physical therapy and wanted to go to Texas Tech University. Jensen is good friends with LeAnn Rimes and Christian Kane.

Jensen’s Filmography

Jensen started his career in one episode of Wishbone in 1996 and also did four other episodes that year on 7th Heaven, Sweet Valley High, Cybill and Mr. Rhodes. In 1997, Jensen got a part on the popular soap opera Days of our Lives as Eric Brady. In 2001, he played in the TV movie Blonde and began his part as Alec on the show Dark Angel. He ended up with the part of CJ on Dawson’s Creek; the part was from 2002 to 2003.

In 2003, Jensen had a part in Still Life that lasted for six episodes and ended in 2004. He finally did a movie in 2004 called The Plight of Clownana. In 2004, he also received his role on Smallville as Jason and did 22 episodes. Jensen finally hit the big screen in Devour in 2005. In 2007, he played in the movie Ten Inch Hero. Jensen has been playing Dean in the show Supernatural since 2005.

Jensen’s Awards

Jensen has won one award and has been nominated for four others. In 1998, he won a Soap Opera’s Digest award for Outstanding Male Newcomer for “Days of Our Lives.” He was nominated three years in a row (‘98, ‘99 and ‘00) for daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for “Days of Our Lives.” In 2006, Jensen was nominated for Teen Choice Award for Choice Breakout Star for his role in Supernatural.
